Aston Martin’s Radical V12 Speedster Hits The Road

As is quickly becoming commonplace, an eight-speed ZF-sourced automatic transmission acts as intermediary between the front-mid-mounted motor and the rear wheels, but despite that long hood and outrageous carbon fiber bodywork, Aston says this isn’t just a showpiece but rather a “truly visceral driver’s car”. Weight is kept down thanks to a chassis that is crafted mainly from carbon fiber while bonded aluminum underpinnings shared with the Vantage and DBS Superleggera confirm that this will be spectacular to drive. Pricing is exorbitant, of course, with each example selling for a stupendous $950,000. However, since each one is to be handbuilt, that price can be justified somewhat. Deliveries are expected to commence early next year, once prototypes like this one have been perfected.
